Former LA home of comedy legend Phyllis Diller for sale – Brentwood Real Estate
Celebrity real estate sites report that the former home of the late comedian Phyllis Diller has been added to the list of houses for sale in Brentwood. She purchased the home in 1965 and began coming up with different names for each of the rooms, including the Wig Room where she kept all her elaborate costumes over the years. Those looking to live in an oversized mansion can do so, as long as they can afford the $12.9 million asking price.
The 9,000-square-foot house was built in 1914 and sits on 1.25 acres of land offering 22 separate rooms including eight bedrooms and five bathrooms. Another notable room is the grand living room, also known as the Bob Hope Salon, which houses an oversized portrait painting of Bob Hope, whom Diller always dubbed her mentor.
Throughout her lifetime, the legendary comedian worked on a variety of forms of entertainment including television and film, while she also lent her well-recognizable voice to multiple animated films and children’s series.
