Lord of the Rings Star is Selling Home in Santa Monica – North of Montana Real Estate
Elijah Wood, a former child star who has transitioned seamlessly into several highly lauded adult roles, has placed his Santa Monica, California, home on the real estate market, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Wood is probably best known for his role as Frodo Baggins, the ring-bearing hobbit from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. The star will dust of his cloak and reprise the role in the upcoming “The Hobbit” movies, which will be helmed by “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson, the source explains.
The Spanish-style home was built in 1924 and still has many of the period details embellished by carefully chosen additions, like the cast-iron tile floor transported to the home from a British brewery. There is also a guest house with attached office on premise, according to the Santa Monica Patch.
A Queen Anne-style doorway leads into a round receiving hall, and the home also features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. While the 2,130 square feet of living space may not seem as ample as some home buyers would like, there are opportunities to add to or remodel the property.
