LA’s First Dunkin’ Donuts Coming to Santa Monica
It was announced last week that Dunkin’ Donuts is planning 1,000 units in California. The doughnut maker will also be opening it’s first Los Angeles located in Santa Monica at the old HairCutters’ spot on the corner of 12th and Wilshire before the end of 2014.
In addition to the franchise expansions across the Golden State, Dunkin’ Donuts is planning to produce full service restaurants that offer non-breakfast, savory sandwich options. But they’re not “lunch,” per se, says CEO Nigel Travis: “We’re not moving into lunch. We’re in snacking. We never talk about lunch.”
No word on whether this operation in Santa Monica will be one of those full service models but based on the size, it’s more likely to be a standard-issue donut and coffee shop.
